So, what is a concept store? A concept store is not any old retail establishment. It isn’t just a go-to place to buy a thing. It is an environment that is carefully curated around a particular theme or idea. If it could evoke feelings, your favorite concept store would make you feel like you are in a space surrounded by the things that speak to you…like home. According to Insider Trends, concept stores “evoke a lifestyle that appeals to a specific target audience – they are inspirational.”
LCDmodern curates a modern, streamlined lifestyle that merges everyday living, playing, working, and entertaining. We like products that are thoughtfully created with longevity and design in mind. We like eco-friendly and sustainable materials. We don’t take ourselves too seriously. We like to see funky collections and children’s artwork along side a designer chair or expensive vase. We like seeing grandpa’s rocking chair (maybe not his overstuffed recliner) incorporated into your modern living room decor.
It doesn’t stop there. Concept stores also incorporate experiences: learning, teaching and socializing. It is a place where its people can come together to share in a particular lifestyle. At LCDmodern, we want to be a community resource: a place to learn fun new crafts, get introduced to new artists and makers, and socialize with others who have a similar design sensibility or outlook in life. We will be hosting gallery nights, mini workshops, talks, holiday festivities, and more.
